LANGUAGECERT ESOL SELT A2 Speaking & Listening

UK Home Office approved A2 English test for visa extension on a Family partner or Family parent visa, requiring speaking and listening assessment. An A2 CEFR level means you can understand and use simple English about everyday topics like work and family, and talk about your basic needs.

Test Format and Structure


Part 1 - Personal information
Answer simple questions about yourself.
Part 2 - Role play
Start a conversation and respond appropriately in everyday situations.
Part 3 - Exchanging information
Look at one or more images and talk about what you see.
Part 4a - Listen and respond
Listen to a short talk and answer questions.
Part 4b - Long turn
Give a short, uninterrupted talk on a topic provided by the examiner.

The LANGUAGECERT ESOL SELT A2 Speaking & Listening exam is accepted for the following visa types:

Visa extension - Further Leave to Remain (visa extension after 2.5 years in the UK)

This visa route allows a husband, wife, partner or parent of a British citizen or settled person a to apply for visa extension on a Family partner or Family parent visa.
